SCENE 1, INTERIOR. AFTERNOON, HOMEWORK LAB. The teacher moves to the back of the room where two boys are working on assignments. One of the boys raises his hand and waits for help.
TEACHER: Did you need help, Joey?
JOEY: [Shaking head]. No. But Mr. Z, I finished all my homework.
[Pause].
TEACHER: What about your journal entry?
[The boy looks confused].
JOEY: Journal? What’s a journal entry?
[The teacher rolls his eyes and blows out a breath].
TEACHER: Your journal…you know, a diary.
ALEX: Of a wimpy kid?
[The two boys burst into laughter, and the teacher stifles a smile].
TEACHER: Yep, and I’m looking at one right now.
[Joey glances sideways at his friend].
JOEY: Alex?
[Joey snaps his fingers and shakes his shoulders back and forth, as if he were an extra in a Beyoncé video].
JOEY: Oh yeah, I picked that one right off, didn’t I?
[The teacher smiles].
TEACHER: Well, it takes one to know one, doesn’t it?
JOEY: Is sure does, Mr. Z.
Fade to black.

Love that kid.
Is that movie out yet??
He's a smart one, that Joey!
I wanna see that kid in 15 years...lol priceless....
Joey is.....awesome! P.S. Levi showed and taught grandma the Z snap. :D Thought you'd like that. He gets a kick out of it and asks everyone if they know how to do 'this' and then shows them. He had grandma laughing and snapping the Z.
Slam!
Oh Joey, you're such a good sport! Curious, does your school have 6th grade in the elementary or is it in the middle school?
I love reading about Joey! lol You are going to miss him next year!
I love that Joey does so much snapping. He's got attitude, that kid.
HAHA. Joey is intelligent and funny!:)
Toodles...
Right on, Joey! I hope by the end of the year he figures out his journal.
Joey once again has upped you! Now that is something to write in a diary.
S - Not on DVD, I think it's at the dollar theaters…
K - You have no idea.
C - He'll make an excellent politician.
R - Seriously? That kid makes me laugh.
T - Good thing that it goes both ways, right?
B - Yes, we are a 6th grade school so I know that I'll see this boy all next year, too. It's kind of fun to still have old students around the school even after they're out of my class.
V - Good think he'll be around still, but yes, not being in the classroom is a different thing.
C - You should meet him…the whole shoulder-shaking, finger-snapping…
MS - On most days he is.
C - Oh, he knew exactly what it was, just has to go for the attention. It's a good thing he's entertaining.
R - That's why I blog. Great job on your race today!
Verrry quick! So quick, I had to read it twice.
That Joey!! :)
I had a funny moment yesterday at school. It was "gum and game day" and one girl came to me with a wad of gum stuck in her hair. It wasn't hers either. She said that it's Brian's and it fell out of his mouth during group time on the rug. Brian (looking sorry) said, "Yeah, I tried getting it out." I then asked..."How is it possible that it's yours when you still have gum in your mouth?" He replied, "Well, this the part that I was able to get out of her hair."
I about lost it! Oh, the joys of kidnergarten!
Hahaha! My son loved that movie! And I think that I just may have the Joey you are talking about living in the room next to me.
awww that's so cute. i love it. you know, as a teacher, you're almost forced to be hip - you get in on all of the latest crazes just being around those kids. i'm a bit jealous. i actually need to watch hours of mtv to keep up with my teen trends (i write for kids so that's my excuse, don't hate!)...
Don't know if you do awards or not, but I gave you one on my blog. Just wanted people to know what a great blog you have. Pass it on or don't up to you, but your blog is great!! (both of them!)
LOL, I'm starting to love these. Can't wait for the next episode!
*laughing*
...and practicing my Beyonce snap...
Oh that Joey is a keeper
