Senior Session - Gerb's Eldest Mancub

I have been doing so poorly lately at putting up photography sessions. I'll try to do better in the future.

Notice I said 'try.'

It's strange to think of this young man - once the sixth grade boy who lost his chair for nearly three weeks in my classroom six years ago - who is now a graduating senior...

The years seems to meld together.

If you wanted to know more about how amazing his mother, Gerb, is, you can find out more about her here. If you wanted to know more about broccoli and me, you can do so over at Four Perspectives...after all, I'm posting over there today...however, if you were simply feeling adventurous, you could always just click here just because.

That has to be really cool to see your young students grow up and succeed!
The pictures are fantastic - I especially love the close up where he is looking up but they are all so good.

That last picture had me tearing up. Fantabulous pics of such a handsome guy.

PS-I'm glad I felt adventurous too. That is one of my favorites. The comment about it being "oddly sweet" just about sums it up.

That's so awesome! How great that he not only came back to visit but you took his senior pictures.
My first 2nd grade class is graduating high school this year. (sniffles)

Those are great pictures. You should be a photographer or something.

My baby sister is graduating this year. It's so strange to think I was a junior in high school when she was born. Where does the time go?

Great shots! I love the one of him looking up at you. The light in his eyes is awesome! Where were the later shots at? I love the yellow building and the shot of him walking on the wood panels. You're amazing as usual!

I've thought about becoming a photographer...lol.

The later shots were taken at an abandoned stockyard near the trainyard. Since there was a hole in the fence we decided to go on a little adventure...

This is what you get for coming to a post late, everyone has already shared my thoughts.

Yeah for Gerb! Yeah for that handsome boy/man! And yeah for amazing photographers!

(Who should really come to Boston this year and shoot some pictures of a particular family that I happen to love.)

There now, that was an original comment wasn't it?

So strange that you have taught graduating seniors. My first class will be in 8th grade next year. I still have a while.

Great photos!

Stop reminding me how fast they grow up. This post almost made me cry thinking of my third grader. Great photos though of a handsome young man.

What a great photo session, I love the one with him standing in that doorway or windowwell or whatever on the side of the building. Very cool!

Only a teacher would experience the joy/frustration--whatever--of seeing their students grow up and the joy to see them succeed.
Those pictures were incredible I think.

Before I moved here to Canada, I used to play in a Bonko group with a lady who was a teacher to ALL my 5 children.
She taught my Matt (who died in November)...she had fun stories to relate to me.
A GOOD teacher goes far beyond the classroom
and I think you are one of THOSE

you teach your students to play the guitar, you teach, go to their ball games....and then on top of it all, you take their senior pictures!
I never ever had a teacher like you!
but, I sure wish I did.

oddly enough - I ran into my kids' kindergarten teacher today... the fifth grader is now nearly as tall as she is... but it got me thinking - and some of my past students are off at college now... thank goodness for facebook or I would've thought they were still in Jr. High because it certainly doesn't make sense to me that they've aged while I've been raising my family...

great pix - I may need to book an appt for VeggieTeen in 2 years k?
