- Henry Chadwick
Standing alone on the mound
The ball is cradled in my hand
My mitt - with its smell of worn leather
It fills my nostrils with memory
The batter approaches
He stands at home plate
A look of determination fills his eyes
The thrill of the game pulses inside me
I lean back on one leg
The ball is fired from my hand
Like a rocket, it speeds onward
I hear the swoosh of the bat
It cuts the empty air
One.
Two.
Three strikes.
My dad calls my name from the stands.
I pause, wave, and smile.
Baseball.

Awesome! I love the time lapse effect! (Especially in black and white.) I also love how the poem captures the emotion of the event.
Excellent pairing of phrase and photo.
Kuddos my friend. Well done.
Sorry I was so slow in reading the other posts about the photography contest! HOORAY for Rachel and me - but mostly me! (lol)
As soon as I make the impossible choice between all my favorites I'll send you an email.
Thanks again!
I really love that!
what a wonderful picture!
Very cool! I've wanted to try multiple exposure.
That is the coolest picture ever!!
What a great picture...and those thoughts you shared to go with it.
After having 4 sons all play baseball, I have LOTS of good memories at the baseball field.
Miss That.
This is a fab shot, I love the action. I am excited to join the weekly kodachrome for the first time today.
Your baseball photo is just awesome! You did a great job on it. I would love to do something like this for my son-in-law who is a baseball nut:)
