Soundtrack to life

Pin It There are times when I am going day to day through my routines and moments…suddenly a song comes to mind. Often I will think to myself just how grand it would be to have that particular song be part of the soundtrack to my life. Maybe I’m one of the only people who do this, but I will frequently rethink over portions of my life to a song I’ve heard which seems fitting for that particular “scene” or moment suspended in time.

One of the most recent titles I’ve added to my “living album” is Matt Scannell (the lead singer from Vertical Horizon) remaking John Lennon’s 1965 hit song, “In my life.”

There are places I'll remember
All my life, though some have changed
Some forever, not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places had their moments
With lovers and friends, I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life, I've loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life, I'll love you more

Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life, I'll love you more

What song would you add to a daily life playlist? Would you like to add yours to the list of other fellow bloggers? If so, go here.

Great song. My life soundtrack would include "Drowning Man" by U2. It is a songs that I almost can't listen to because it brings back powerful, vivid memories that evoke dormant emotions. Luckily for me it is one of U2's less popular tunes and is not randomly given air time on the radio.

I'll have to check out "Drowning Man." Maybe I'll play it in my classroom on days I don't want you there...

"Diamond Girl" is the song that does that for me.

Those are some great songs on that life soundtrack of yours. It got me thinking, I wonder what mine would be...

I think it would be more than one cd, that's for sure!

Annette,

You know, I'd need at least two more CDs to complete my soundtrack as well.
