I think that this summed it all up fairly well. The contest will officially begin next Sunday - just get me your kid's photo before then. Just know that these photos (without names) will be posted online in a montage for voting purposes.
The poll will be located on the Backroads Photography website next week - Don't worry, I'll provide a link.
By the way if you live out-of-state (unless you want to pay travel fees) you might not want to enter. That is, unless it's a place that I will be at (I do plan to go to NYC sometime this summer and perhaps Washington State…still haven't decided on California).

Aw wish I had a kid in that age range. You'd come to KY wouldn't you ;o)
This sounds like lots of fun. Are you going to break them into age categories? or just all in one group?
B - Of course I would…
D - It's all going to be just one group. Trying to be less complicated.
Bummer! No chance of a trip to good ole' Nebraska?? We have a fantastic zoo, an awesome football team (sometimes) and the only state capitol that's a Unicameral. It's also the home of Johnny Carson and Larry the Cable Guy.
Am I selling it yet? LOL
the only kid i have is my husband, but i wanted to stop by your page and say hi any way :)
Can I submit photos you've taken or is that cheating?? :D
I don't have any kids yet. Can I draw you a picture of what I think my kid might look like and send it in?
My kids are just so dang good looking I may have to enter and make the drive from DC to NYC for my prize. Oh, does being a super cocky stage mom disqualify me? And can I enter more than one kid. Have you seen my sidebar?
A - And to think, Nebraska is right up there on my list of places to visit…however, I don't think it'll be this year.
Can we still be friends?
A - Thanks for making your presence known. If your husband is younger than 12, you can enter him. Of course if he is, you might have some serious explaining to do…
R - It's just a photo so people can see who your kid is. It doesn't have to be a professional image, a quick snapshot would do the trick just swimmingly. If you wanted to use another shot, I suppose that would be fine as well.
PTM - I guess I could do a photoshoot of said drawing, right?
K - I do plan to visit my brother during the summer in NY…if not, I will go sometime in the near future. As for entries, you can enter more than one kid; however, you might have people split then on who to vote for then.
I would love to enter in the contest, but I'm slightly afraid that those who know both of our blogs would put two and two together. :) I'm really trying to keep their amazingly cute little faces from spreading to the masses! :) I must say that I completely, whole heartedly, undeniably, and most assuredly do think they would both win because they would tie the poll. Great idea though! I hope all is well!
Also, I tried clicking on the button for 4P and it's not working quite right. It brings up the picture and doesn't take you to the link. I don't know if that was intended or not, but just a heads up. :)
S0unds fun! Too bad I'm out of state. *sniff*
Can I enter a niece or nephew? How many?
Can I submit a 10 year old picture of an 8-year-old? How about a picture of the cutest grandchildren? How about if I just check out the pictures next week!
M - That's the price you pay for being asthetically-pleasing…
I fixed the link, thanks for letting me know.
S - If only you lived closer..
J - You betcha.
C - Grandkids would probably be okay, you could even claim them (if you liked them, that is).
curious... how recent does the pict have to be? Does it matter? 4 out of my 5 kids are in the age range still. We're overflowing with "subjects" for this contest.
We've never had a family pict taken (other than just snap shots with our cell phone cameras or ones where I set the timer and run to get in the shot). I REALLY hope we win this one!!! It would be an awesome 15th wedding anniversary present!!
Do adopted children count? Mine is three years old...

We are coming to Utah at the end of July for a family reunion and I think we are staying here: http://www.utahsbestvacationrentals.com/properties/mt-olympus.html
Is that close to you in any way? Because I know AZ, but I do not know Utah! If it's close, then I'll do it...if it's not, then I guess I wont.
Hee, hee...my word verification is buchie.
FS - Probably sometime in the last year or two. Something not TOO dated.
M - He looks like he might be a handful…
S - Actually, it's not too far from where I live. You guys would definitely be in the vicinity.
Buchie? You a football fan?
haha. I thought this was a joke at first. I do not know why.
I have a stunning 18 year old; why do bloggers assume other bloggers are just young parents? *wink* Just kidding. I have a younger child, just thought she had a better chance at winning. I'm just keeping it real.
MF - It just makes it easier to track, you know? Instead of 'stunning grandpa' contests or opening up the age groups to a larger span..Also, it seems that most people tend to want to 'show off' their kids.
I know that I'd do it.
Dude. VA. That's all I'm saying.
Nope, not a football fan (ok, I'll watch a leetle college football w/my dad) but my brothers are both fanatics and I love to bug them with comments like,"Wow, that was an awesome home run!" or I yell, "Swish!" when someone scores a touchdown.
I'm the nicest sister, EVER!
Oh, and I agree with Lori. But in AZ, of course.
Will you ever consider doing a contest for children less than a year?
L - I might be there sometime…you never know.
S - It looks like you are quite the sister with support like that.
A - I don't know if I'm quite the brave to do shots of kids that young…but perhaps...
Great! This is what I get for being up to my you-know-what in alligators! I miss out on this bad boy.
I had four awesome entrants too....
