Photoshoot - Where the Wild Things Are

…he sailed off through night and day and in and out of weeks and almost over a year
to where the wild things are.

And he came to the place where the wild things are

they roared their terrible roars

and gnashed their terrible teeth

and rolled their terrible eyes

and showed their terrible claws

Till Max said “BE STILL!” and tamed them with the magic trick of staring into all their yellow eyes without blinking once and they were frightened and called him the most wild thing of all.

And made him king of all wild things.

“And now,” cried Max, “let the wild rumpus start!”

And Max the king of all wild things was lonely and wanted to be where someone loved him best of all.

Then all around from far away across the world he smelled good things to eat
So he gave up being king of where the wild things are.

But the wild things cried, “Oh please don’t go—we’ll eat you up—we love you so!”
And Max said, “No!”

The wild things roared their terrible roars and gnashed their terrible teeth and rolled their terrible eyes and showed their terrible claws but Max stepped into his private boat and waved good-bye.

and sailed back over a year and in and out of weeks and through a day and into the the night to his very own room

where he found his supper waiting for him

and it was still hot.

Oh. My. Goodness. These are amazing! I love the hilltop shots with that gorgeous sky and Max comes to the place where the wild things are.

Ooh I want a copy of that.....

Great photoshoot... looks like you are having a great time down south.

K - I guess that is why that book has lasted for 50 years and is still going strong...

J - Oh, he's a little imp; a perfect Max to be sure.

A - Thanks for letting me steal your mancub.

M - Thanks, it was fun. I'm glad that the sun broke through the clouds for the six or seven minutes it did and allowed for the type of lighting I was looking for.

R - To be honest, other than a few photo shoots I've done pretty much nothing other than sit around. It's a nice change to be honest. I'm missing Tuesdays with Mr. M!

K - Like I said above, the light broke through the clouds and coated everything with the most amazing light...it only lasted for about six minutes, but it was a glorious six minutes.

S - I love it when he howls at the sky. I was talking to his mom yesterday and she was planning on putting these together as a book. It kind of makes me wish I'd have read the real story right before I'd done the shoot and done a few more photos to make it work...

Oh well.

K - Thanks, I'd say that this is probably my favorite shoot of all-time.

Such fun photos! Goes along well with the Wild Things book. "Max" is a very handsome boy. Love his stomach hanging out below his shirt!

Love these pictures. That light is so beautiful. My favorite is that very first shot of this post. I would SO have that blown up and framed.

BTW, I saw your comment on my blog and we are headed to eastern Washington in July. What part are you from?
