The desert holds a special place in my heart. I cannot explain fully when or why this love came about, but it might have something to do with my dear friend and coworker, Ron Firmage, who introduced me to Expedition Red Rock and the beauty which southern Utah truly holds.
For this, Ron, I cannot thank you enough.

I love these photos--have from the first time I saw them, I believe on your FB page. The play of light and dark, the shadows and the sunlight...they're amazing. And the one of yourself is wonderful, too--how on earth did you manage to take that? Tripod or monkey arms? ;)
This, I would have to say, is one of my absolute favorite posts on my blog. As for the self-portrait...monkey arms.
A little late in commenting, but just had to add that this is likely my all-time favorite post. Well, maybe it's tied with about 10 others. Okay, maybe 20. But I really, really do love this post. The pictures, the words... everything. Love it.
