The California Experience - Day 4

There is so much to tell about the trip to Alcatraz. Too much. I will (for the last time in a while) let the images speak for themselves...

A photoshoot in Alcatraz? Yeah, kind of demented, I know...

Going in...

Solitary confinement…it's a lot darker with the door closed and the camera shutter speed not decreased so much on my camera.

My pathetic prophecy from Zambini in Goonies.

This portion of the trip to Haight and Ashbury was pretty cool, however, you'll need to head to Four Perspectives tomorrow in order to read about it...

I think that your going to Alcatraz is the part of your California experience I am most jealous about.
And the pics....There are definitely some new favorites in that bunch.
I'm glad you had such a great time.

I went to Alcatraz in High School. I absolutely certain I didn't appreciate it as I should have then or would now. Your pictures are wonderful. As always.

Wow. Great photos. I love Alcatraz, and spring is the best time to see it, with the budding flowers on the hillsides.

Also, you have the EXACT SAME shoes as me. Must be a teacher thing.

LOVE the photo through the chain link fence where the fence is framing it. Very cool!

N - It was awesome. I'd got back again, the tour was very interesting.

S - Thanks for liking them. They were fun to take, too.

C - I took a few which weren't so great, these were some of my personal favorites.

M - Trial and error is a master teacher…

S - Isn't it amazing just how much we appreciate as we get older? Also thanks for the compliment.

C - It's all about good taste, my good man…

R - I wanted to explore that building but we were warned about trying to get into places which were closed 'for our protection.'

Bummer.

T - It was a blast. It is also something that I'll have to do again sometime. Hope your trip was 'all that' as well…

N - Thanks, it's fun to take them and also to share.

How do you make something ugly and dreary look so beautiful?

That last pic- reminded me of this: http://images2.fanpop.com/images/photos/6400000/Goofy-with-Diamond-Eyes-snow-white-and-the-seven-dwarfs-6497076-575-360.jpg

I assume that was your intention? Funny! :) What's with the big jewels anyway?

I'll never forget the tour through Alcatraz, it's something else for sure. I remember that solitary cell like it was yesterday, creepy. Can't wait for my son to be old enough to enjoy that stuff!

And of course, the photos are awesome. :)
