Media of the Week - Sony Bravia

Pin It Sometimes in life we find small things which inspire us; at times these things can remind us of our past, and often cause us to reflect on the ever more wondrous future.

A few years ago I was introduced to a short commercial via my younger brother. This advertisement spoke to me.

But a commercial? How can a commercial do that, Teachinfourth?

It just did. Watching this particular clip not only made me feel calm and at ease, but it also helped me to remember that this world is a wonderful place - for contained herein is the beauty and simplicity of a child's ultimate fantasy.

If you've not yet experienced the sublime wonder of this commercial, then I'd like to take the time to welcome you to your brand-new favorite.

You're welcome…in advance.

P.S. Be sure to select the 720p version - it just looks better.

Very cool. Loved the frog in slow motion. Is that SF?

It reminds me somewhat of the Red Balloon. Have you ever seen it? It is a wordless movie about a balloon floating aimlessly in Europe. It is really old but you ought to check it out. It is terrific. Thanks for sharing this commercial. All I can say is awesome!

I would say "thank you" - but since you already said "you're welcome" I feel like I would be tardy to the party.

Loved it! My boys will too. Commercials are great because they only have such a short time to impress, so they are clever and high impact. Plus, that's why we have the Superbowl right? It's all about the commercials.
This was awesome. (So is the red balloon one that VKT is talking about.)Thanks for posting it.

That was seriously cool.
Although, I would sure hate to be the one to have to clean that up.
Like Cheeseboy, I loved the frog.

What was the soundtrack?? That is such a cool commercial. I would have loved to see that happen. Kid or adult, it would have blown my mind!

Wouldn't you just love to be there when all those bouncy balls went by? So cool! And you were right, it does just make you HAPPY!

I think I need to learn to relax, all I kept wondering was if the balls would damaged the auto body work on the cars......

S - Isn't it just?

C - Yep, that was San Fran.

V - I've seen it before. It's a wonderful short movie. First time I saw it was when I was a kid. I felt so sorry for the balloon.

T - Since I've already said, "You're welcome," I should probably not repeat it.

N - Glad you enjoyed it, I couldn't keep it all to myself…

S - What are you talking about? Just get a group of kids and say, "Okay, we're going to play a game of pick up the bouncy balls…"

Problem solved.

O - It was sung by José González. It's on his album, Veneer. The song is titled "Heartbeats."

C - I;ve watched it a dozen or more times and still love it.

J - I would have loved it. This commercial just makes me smile, too.

B - I thought of that a few times myself; of course, since it was done in slow motion, everything was probably fine, right?

You can watch a real-time version online of a few parts (how they made it) and those balls were flying down the street.

R - That's my favorite part.

C - Gifted. Enough said.

Loved it. SF is the perfect location for that effect. And I love VKT's comparison to the Red Balloon--that's perfect.

I work in advertising and can appreciate an awesome broadcast ad. That was great! I've never seen it before to be honest. I'm also very surprised at the length.

I really do enjoy commercials. It makes the DVR a problem. Hubs speeds through them and I yell, "Stop, no, I need to see that one, go back!" Ha ha :)

Thanks for sharing that!

How many bouncy balls does it take to tip over a full trash can?

I am totally going to do something like this someday. It would be much easier than achieving my dream of being in a flash mob.

I have a strange desire now to go raid my son's bouncy ball collection and find a hill somewhere.

Love it.
