I was sitting in the kitchen, getting ready to enjoy a quiet dinner, when I heard a strange sound coming from the living room. Thinking of gremlins, prowlers, and other things that go bump in the night, I went to investigate and was surprised to find my printer whirring as it woke itself up from sleep mode. Something was going on; something strange was happening.
But I hadn’t printed anything.
And yet, as I stood there, a document was emerging from the printing tray.
I cautiously leaned over and took the sheet of paper from the out-tray, feeling the heat soak into my fingers as I gazed at the letterhead - which was oddly addressed to me.
What the heck?
Well, one should always listen to their future self, right? After all, they probably know exactly what they’re talking about.
I also took the copy of Toy Story 3 over to my neighbor – with whom I share a wireless network. Funny though, he wasn’t at all surprised that I was bringing it over. I can only assume that I must have faxed him from the future as well…
Man, but I’m considerate.

I guess its a good thing you leave your fax on? otherwise he would have to resort to email, texting or God forbid, calling you on the phone...lol
That is honestly one of my FAVORITE scenes! Hahahaha! Thank you so much. I seriously needed a good laugh. Hey... and maybe your neighbor just has a sixth sense or supernatural intuition. Who knows? Happy Easter!
That is so funny.... I do hope you tossed the ice cream.
The question that is unanswered is: WHO poisoned the ice cream? Also, why isn't future you using Facebook to communicate. Perhaps he is not friends with yourself?
*Love* it!
That is awesomely awesome in the most awesome way.
I wish I had cool neighbors like that.
Wow! I wonder if our neighbors could fax us pictures of them being naked?
That is both hilarious and awesome.
I hope you didn't eat the ice cream.
@Kristna P.- Would you WANT naked pictures of your neighbors?
lol- this is too funny. I also enjoyed the cupcake story...you never cease to make me laugh.
Thanks for that!
What a fun neighbor!
LOVE the office and that clip!
Posioned ice cream? That's just weird. I think future self wrote that to keep you from gaining weight. Or maybe the neighbor had alreay eaten it and didn't want to be found out. Either way share network with a neighbor? That's the scarest of this story!
I'm a little concerned about the ice cream but now want to share wireless w/ someone just so I can play that joke on them!
That is funny! Quite clever. As a concerned friend, I feel you must bring your ice cream over post haste! I'd hate for you to poison yourself or any critters that might lurk in city dumpsters..... we will properly dispose of the contaminated goods. We are professionals!
Your neighbor should've asked for the ice cream too, you know just to test it and make sure it was alright. Since he didn't maybe I should come and get it... ;)
How nice to have such fun neighbors.
Haha, were you there to knock the ice cream out of someone's hand? I love that scene from The Office.
Classic! :)
Wireless printer: some amount of dollars.
Paper in printer: another amount of dollars
Warning message from future self about poisoned ice cream: priceless
real life paralleling the office: epic
I loved that episode of The Office.
That message is pretty hilarious.
I sometimes get tweets from the future, but they're always from other people. I guess my future self isn't too worried about me. I hope that's a good sign?
And I thought I was good at pranking the neighbors, but this is CLASSIC! Now I am off to search unsecured wireless networks on my street to see what kind of fun I can have!
And it goes without saying this Office scene is one of the best ones.
New to your blog, it's very fun and enjoyable to read. Love this post!! Good thing future you was thinking about present you. What a good guy! :)
I wonder if he'll text you next?
you tossed the ice cream, yes?
too funny.
That cracked me up! And brought back memories of the fun of BYU. Sounds like you are keeping it alive!
Toy Story was a little dark for me. And sad because I am not a huge fan of the whole growing up thing...I know it is inevitable...but I just don't deal with it well.
One of my fave episodes of The Office. Great letter! Funny as heck!
Yes, but does your future self every figure out who poisons the ice cream?
LOL! That's awesome.
Now if only I could get a head's up from my future self....
Cool neighbor. :D
What a crack up - All kinds of funny idea's started flowing through my brain...and that is saying something, especially at 8:00 pm - Ha ha!
LMAO! And one of my favorite Jim schemes on The Office.
