Good - but Not All That Good - Byes

Pin It My dearest friends and fellow Bloggers,

I’ve reached a moment in my blogging career when I have come to the realization that this is a medium that it is finally time to leave behind. This isn’t a sudden decision, but one I’ve been mulling over for quite a while—this is probably due to the amount of time blogging consumes in a week; when I stopped and thought about just how much time I spend writing, I finally came to the conclusion that it would be best to stop blogging altogether.

Granted, things like Weekly Kodachrome and Moments with Joey will be hard to leave behind, but when I’ve thought about the things in my life that should be more of a priority, I was again reminded that it’s finally time to let some things go.

I wanted to thank those of you who’ve been reading over the years, for supporting me, and also for the comments and interactions we’ve had with each other. I’ve made some great friends during this haul, and I hope that those of us who’ve connected can continue to do so in the future.

In upcoming days I may still stop by your blogs on occasion, but for the time being, I’m just going to put it all on hold.

Take care my friends, it’s been a fun ride.

Yours sincerely,

Teachinfourth

Nice April Fools! You better not even think about it! The only thing that keeps me thinking about returning is reconnecting with those awesome people I've been missing all these months. Good one, though. ;^)

I completely understand. You will be missed!

Yes Carrie! I didn't think of it while in my reader, but when I came to your post and saw the date, it also gave me a glimmer of hope. You have to write, Mr. Z. It just has to come out somehow. Right? :-)

Then you will have plenty of time to come to dinner when I move back, right?

Too convenient of a post on April 1st. I'm calling your bluff!

Other than the date of April Fools... I'm guessing it's all because I've been such a slacker commenter. I don't know if I can handle the worldwide blame of being the one that prompted the Teach to close up shop.

Really - please say it ain't so!

I did not join in the festivities of April Fools, the reason being that I completely forgot. I read this and thought that yes, I agree as I rarely post on my own blog, but spend time reading other's blogs regularly. I really hope that this is just a joke because the Weekly Kodachrome and Moments with Joey bring a smile to my face when I really need it. I don't think I have ever commented, but just know that I enjoy reading and I share the fuuny times with others. I enjoy your photos, writing, and I get a kick out of what you do. Please don't stop!!!

Oh, you had me. Glad I read the comments and didn't come on telling you how wonderful you are and how you should at least do it once in a blue and promise to be better about commenting and how much I'd miss your posts because you're such a great writer blah, blah, blah! :0)

I admit I read this and thought "Seriously? He didn't say anything about it yesterday! I know he's been working a lot lately, so I guess it makes sense". I left your blog a bit bummed, but then, its not as if I won't be seeing you around. It was probably ten minutes later that I got to thinking that I'd better check the date and, sure enough, its got the April Fools date stamp.

Good one.

Note to self: I have to stop being so gullible!

To those of you who figured me out...well done.

I could take a break from Blogging, but I don't know if I could give it up just yet.

Figured you were foolin'... :-)

Still, that scene/song from the Muppets always gets to me a little. Not so much because of the movie - (although it IS a classic) - but mostly because the sentiment is so true...Haven't we all had to say goodbye to someone at some point in time without knowing when, if, or how we will meet again?

Thanks for sharing... (and welcome "back"... lol)

Shoot. You totally had me. If I hadn't read the comments section first, you would have gotten a good laugh at me!

I didn't read this until after April Fool's, and didn't check the date. I remember reading through the first paragraph and thinking, "Wait, is he quitting because he lost like five followers or something? Gosh, what a drama queen. I give it a week and he'll be back." It wasn't until today that I saw the date... XD
