Good day

Pin It While I don’t watch Oprah, I did watch this.

I smiled.

I hope you do, too.

I loved this. I would so love to be in the middle of one of these flash mobs. *sigh*

Flash mobs are THEE coolest. Think they'll ever have one in Provo, UT? :D

It was very cool to watch on TV but like the others I think it would be cool to be there in the middle of things.

S - I agree, it would be fun to be in the thick of it all rather than on the other side of the computer screen.

R - I don't know why there'd be one in Provo...not enough people around. However, it would be awesome.

M - I couldn't agree more. BTW, did you ever hear about this one? I thought it was just as cool...

Love it. Was that girl at the first a certain hottie pashotti drama queen we both know whose name starts with K? It sure could have been...

I'm glad you posted the link to the train station one. I was trying to find it for my kids earlier.

Rain on my parade. I was SO thinking that Provo would be the next flash mob ;)

I just spent the last half an hour searching for an article or a blog I read quite a while ago about something similar and I thought it was fantastic.

All over New York they advertised for this thing and if I could remember what they called it I could probably find the article.. anyways.

All of these people downloaded an MP3 from a website and had to promise not to listen to it until the appointed day and time. They were to upload it to their iPods wear one of the appointed colored T-shirts, go to the appointed park and just be ready at the right time.

When the time and date arrived they went to the park and at the right time pressed play, and silently they all acted out what was said on the MP3 like "people wearing yellow do this"

of course there was a lot more to it and a lot more fascinating to read about.. and now that I have rambled on and probably left you with a thirst for the rest of it that I cannot quench.

perhaps I will keep looking because I would like to read it again my self.

I knew I would find it as soon as I gave up and commented.

The great thing about the idea of a Flash Mob, is that it could happen anywhere....with a big or small crowd. Can you imagine if you were in the Riverwoods, on one of the campuses, or University Mall and this happened. What a moment to make happen....still trying to figure out how to start one of these, I need to be a millionaire so I can put one of these together myself instead of waiting for someone to come and do one where I am.

The basic idea is to leave people smiling and feeling better at the end of the performance right?! So, Teachinfourth....what an experiment to try with say a 5th grade class :)

L - I hadn't heard the name before, but I knew of them. 'Pretty cool' is right...

J - I know that certain someone; she'd have been every bit as animated.

R - The train station one is probably my favorite. There is just something about that type of gathering which makes the people around them smile.

S - I couldn't believe how catchy it was, either. Oh, to have been there though!

D - Improv Everywhere does this type of stuff all the time. My brother who lives in NY did one of these things and sent me that link before. It's pretty cool, isn't it? I was hoping on my last visit that I'd get to take part in one, but alas, no.

There is another one about the 'freeze' in Times Square which is pretty cool, too. You can watch that one here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1r34kegSDj0

S - Just what to do, what to do...

ME - I couldn't agree with you more on that one, Mindy.

How completely cool is that? I guess there are good things on Oprah after all.

Things like this give me goosebumps every time. Can you imagine all that goes into preparing for something like that? And add me to the list of people who want to do that in Provo. I'm not a good dancer, but I could jump around and get crazy like that girl in the beginning...

I'm with everyone else. That would be pretty amazing to see in person!

Well...I have relatives that moved from my hometown to Provo and they tell me that Provo is a big city compared to here. So I think the likely hood of it happening there is greater than it happening here. But how cool would that be to be a part of it???

OK... so now I spent the last hour and a half looking for Flash Mobs on YouTube. I found some good ones ;-)

Apparently some people have done them at BYU - the ones I saw were pretty lame.

I am dancing in my computer chair watching all these fun videos though. THANKS!!!

I found your blog by way of cjane and I am impressed. Today was one of those days where all seems hopeless and yet you say a little prayer in your heart in wishing that you will be comforted. As I read different entries that you had shared, your words calmed me and brought the Spirit so strongly. Tears were shed and laughter escaped. Thank you...

It's so refreshing to see people doing things out of the ordinary. It was very cool. My kids love these things.

N - I was just thinking the same thing!

G - I would be there in a heartbeat with you...

J - And to BE in in person.

B - If it does, I'll be a part of it and blog about it. Deal?

R - Youbetcha, Rich.

C - That one makes me smile, too. It's one of my favorites.

FS - You just can't help but smile and tap your feet to them, can you?

J - Don't worry, I found another one and put it up!

S - Thanks for letting me know...so often we read something or think something but just don't let it go any further than that. Thank you, I'm glad that something you read here was a little uplifting and was a help. I hope you stop by again.

FS - Thanks for finding it.

A - I think I like this version of the song better than the original version.

N - Isn't stuff like this great?
