Pin It I wanted to tell you that I posted at Four Perspectives this morning.

I wanted tell you that I am planning a Hocus Pocus night on Thursday of this week but I don't want to come up with something creative like in years of yore. Why? Mostly because I lack the time and the creative energy right now.

But it will be fun.

We'll start out with a 'preshow' at 6:30 of It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown and then begin the feature film at 7:00. If you need directions, please click the ZMail link and let me know. I'll steer ya right…

I wanted to let you know that I have let the dishes pile up in my sink for four days. It's about time to wash them because I have no bowls left.

I wanted to tell you that I realized that I haven't run a Joey post for two or so weeks. I have several, I just haven't taken the time to write them up from my Joey notebook. I will post one later this week.

I wanted to let you know that I tried making caramel apples last night and heated the caramel squares in the microwave. When it cooled, it turned into a rock. I guess I lack the caramel apple skills and should hence leave that to the experts.

I wanted to tell you that I bought 20+ boxes of Sundried Tomato and Basil Wheat Thins on sale a week or so ago. I have been downing those things like they're going out of style.

I thought I'd tell you about Halloween this year and how I am undecided at how I want to dress up. Funny, this is my favorite holiday and I just can't seem to come up with what I want to be…after all, this only happens once a year.

I thought I'd tell you that I am planning to voice the first Halloween show at ComedySportz on Friday. Of course, I might not be doing it, but I hope so since I can't do it on my usual Saturday because I'm helping a friend at their haunted house.

I thought you might like to know that I bought a fog machine last week because fog machines are cool.

It rained for three days. The wind blew and caused a lot of mayhem. I love the rain. I didn't mind when the howling wind woke me up on on Sunday night.

I made zucchini bread a week ago and it was wonderful. I found the recipe here and added the crumble topping one of the commenters suggested; I discovered that it made it even more fabulous. I bought some more zucchini at the store last night to make another loaf or two.

I thought I should tell you that it's now 7:22 in the morning and I should have headed out to work seven minutes ago.

As a final note, I thought I'd share this…however, some will consider it untasteful and you might want to consider this before pushing the button.

And don't say that I didn't warn you…

Pin It I have a confession.

I saw you at the store today. You were looking at the pancake batter. I was picking up a few various and sundry items. I have to be honest…I sped up and walked quickly, avoiding your aisle altogether. It was not because I wouldn’t have liked to talk to you, but because I had no time.

I love the fact that discussions with you can be quite lengthy; however, I did not have the time to spend this evening…there were too many other things which had already ‘taken a number’ and were waiting in the wings for their turn.

So instead of making my presence known, I subtly moved to the cashier and made my purchase, glancing over my shoulder every now and again.

I drove home.

After preparing dinner for 19 people, making rolls which turned into a loaf of bread from rising too long, and whipping up three batches of cookie dough, I still find myself looking at the pile of Math tests I have yet to correct. Even now, I can still hear the incessant call of my bed upstairs as the clock rolls past ten.

Thanks, I knew you’d understand.

Pin It The gods of winter were showing no mercy, as I braved the icy roads and swirling cyclones of crystallized air.

I was on a mission.

I had to reach the post office to send off a gift, so that it would arrive before Christmas Day.

I figured that with the weather as terrible as it was, the streets would be nearly empty; those with errands to run, would naturally decide to save their last-minute rushing for another day.

I was wrong. It was as if the bad weather were actually a driving magnet. It felt like rush hour in the middle of town, with everyone creeping along with white knuckles between ten and twelve miles per hour.

Heck, it might even be Christmas by the time I would finally be able to reach the post office.

When I arrived at my destination I was a bit dismayed to see the parking lot jammed full of cars. Wouldn’t you know it, I hadn’t brought my headphones either so my iPod was next to worthless; I was already imagining the line I’d have to stand in which would probably stretch from here until Valentine’s Day…that is, if I didn’t die from old age first.

As I entered into the building I saw that the line was indeed long…how long? Let’s just say that I could have listened to Stairway to Heaven five or six times—the long version—before I would be able to make any headway through that line to send off my package.

I took in a deep breath, braced myself for the worst, and then to what to my wandering eyes should appear? A self-service machine in the foyer with only two people in front of it! Could this be real? I mean, if this machine really did allow you to send mail, why weren’t there more people lined up to utilize its services?

I could only surmise that it was from ignorance.

Well, I promptly joined the ‘self-service’ line and in the time it took Silver Bells to finish playing on the overheads, I was out once-again in a wintry wonderland, and well on my way to a warm, cozy home.

Best of all…I was home before Christmas.

Noted absence as of late

Several people have mentioned that I have not been blogging as of late. I am sorry about this, however, with the onslaught of the end-of-year programs, activities, etc., I find myself pressed for time more than usual. Couple this with packing my classroom and getting ready to move to a new school in just a few more days and you’ve got yourself a busy schedule.

Of course, I am not implying that your schedules are not equally loaded down with various and sundry items.

I am sorry to those who’ve I’ve not had a lot of time for lately. This, of course, will remedy itself before long.

I did take a few minutes, just prior to sitting down to make this post, to sit out on my deck and listen to the wind blowing through the trees of my Olympic-sized backyard. I felt it gently turn my thoughts and speak of things which have long lain silent and forgotten.

I will return soon enough.

Why I haven’t written a blog today?

Pin It Good question, I am glad you asked...To answer this as briefly as possible, let me just say that I’ve spent numerous hours in working on people’s photos over the past few weeks; so many in fact, that other areas in my life have suffered greatly as a consequence (sleep mostly). So as a brilliant alternative in lieu taking another half-hour (or longer) of my much-needed rest, I thought I’d post a few items worth a few thousand…













And these are only a few of them...
