Don LaFontaine-like voice-over

Pin It It was at my “Christmas in September” party last night that we watched a commercial with Don LaFontaine (the movie voice-over guy). After the video was over, a few people commented with things like, “Teachinfourth, you could do that…you’ve got a good voice.”

Well, I decided to give it a crack.

I downloaded a copy of the trailer of The Dark Knight and added in a voice-over. This was mostly just to see how well (or not well) I could do it. I started off pretty serious, and then slowly degenerated...

So, what do you think?

BTW, a higher-quality version is available for viewing HERE. Be sure to click, "Watch in high quality" just beneath the "TV" window for this option.

We thought ti really was Mr.-Voice-Over-Guy until partway into it. Oh my gosh! You found your voice twin!!

And...ti should actually be "it". That's gonna bug me.

HA! That's so awesome!! You could totally do it!! When I EVER get my wedding video, I want you to do a goofy "preview" for it!!! That'd rock!!!

It's about time you put that talented voice to work for you. I hear Hollywood pays well for good voice-overs.

Ok, can I just tell you that after a long, heavy day....that seriously made me chuckle? Great job. Thanks for the "pick-me-up."

Ok.. I have to ask. Did it hurt your voice to do "the voice" that much? It totally made me giggle.

But, not as much as...

The Adventures of Stupendous Man & Supersedge

Ok.. I checked out some of the other stuff you posted on YouTube. I'm actually VERY impressed. VHS, Soundtrack live dubbed via radio playing right next to the camera, all done in 1 DAY!!!

I did giggle though. Still have a perma grin on at the moment. Thank You Very Much!

I'm off to bed (finally). Hope your party on Saturday was fun!

Wow! Not bad at all. But would you really want to leave teaching to do voice-overs?

Nah, I didn't think so.

Meg - My 'normal' voice doesn't sound like that...really.

Gerb - You had me reading and rereading my post, trying to find my error. Finally, I saw it in your comment. Glad ti was you and not me.

Uncle D - You got it!

Kris - Thanks...hey...wait a minute here...

Nettle - Now if only could make hundreds and thousands of dollars doing this.

Jamie - (wink) and a smile.

FS - Nope, it doesn't. As for the other...yeah, a bit corny, isn't it? I did fix a few edits when I digitized the video so it wasn't quite as bad as it once was. However, it was fun to make...

GG - I might do it again soonish, depending on my timeframe over the next little while.

Thanks for hopping by...

KJ - Glad you two liked it. I'm thinking of changing up my phone message too: "In a world when Teachinfourth can't be found..."

Bee - I think I could do both, really. I used to do morning announcements at my old school when the principal didn't want to...I'd do the "Goooooooood Morning Sunnnnset Vieeeew!" along with a "Mr. Voice" rundown on all of the school events.

I miss doing those. Good thing I have ComedySportz to keep me in practice.
