Windows open and music on

I drove to work today. As I did, I cranked Avril Lavignes song, “My World,” on the stereo. It was a good driving song…the type you listen to with the windows down, and the wind blowing in your face.

I also recommend “Dancing in the Moonlight” by the Baha Men.

However, Barry Manilow just wont quite cut it.

One of mine is "Unwritten" - other than that it's some rockin' oldies!

Dang. Barry Manilow is my favorite....."Looks like we maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaade it......." eh? eh?! I need some good tunes to blast. It's convertible season and I can drive soon!!!!! Wheee!

Gerb - I love that one too. Some of the oldies are favorites too...do you think we'll be able to listen to those tunes in heaven? Or maybe...well, someplace else if we don't quite make it up there?

Emmy - I can stomach a bit of Barry when I am feeling like I need to be punished for something.

Actually, "Weekend in New England" isn't quite too bad...

But when I'm in a happy/reflective mood, I like to roll down the windows and crank up this one:

I have my own idea of what heaven will be like - a place filled with all the things that make us happy. As for the other place, there will be twangy country music blaring in every corner... there will be no escaping it.

Nettle - Good stuff!

Gerb - It makes me want to be good now, thinking of it that way.

I agree. Baha Men was definitely the best cover of our song Dancing in the Moonlight.

Kingharvest - If this was indeed you who left the comment, I am flattered that you stopped by my blog.

I've loved the original version of this song since the first time my parents played it for me. Kudos for a tune well written!

I have to admit, I heard the cover at a ballroom dance performance done by high school kids and their parents. It reminded me again how much I love this song!
