Inversion Sunset

I was driving home from school a few days ago and we were in the midst of this lovely inversion. The air was so polluted that you could see it like the hazy smoke of a distant fire.

It wasn’t great for the kids because they couldn’t go out to play; it wasn't good for the lungs either; however, it was wonderful for the sunsets.

Son,
I could tell you stories of polluted air with smog alerts in California even back in the early 60's. Where if you tried to bike ride your lungs would just burn from trying to take a deep breath. Or living in San Francisco in the 70's and driving to southern California dropping into the San Bernardino valley at sunrise to see a layer of brown pollution we dropped into.... Perhaps great photos, but thats about all....

Hostagirl - Thanks for stopping by...and thanks for commenting.

Dad - I wholeheartedly agree.

Gerb - It also helps us to appreciate the mountains really are when the rain washes it all away.

Shay-Shay - Thanks.

Dani - It does...of course, it ruins regular afternoon shots though.

KJ - I'm glad you like them...I'll keep taking them if you keep looking.
