Ah, words...

I’ve been thinking a lot about words lately; about how certain words can paint a picture, or evoke meaning for a certain individual...

Or two.

For this post I’d like to kindly make a request; that is, to make a comment using at least one of the words on this post.

I'd be DELIGHTED if you would participate.

Oh, and by the way...if someone has already used a word, please don’t repeat it…like the word I just used in the sentence above this one. Already taking away one of the options, see how I am?

Feel free to RUMMAGE around in your CREATIVE little minds and see what you can come up with.

Good luck, and I hope to hear from you.

Oh, and by the way, should you choose not to participate, there’s no hard feelings.

Yet.

I drifted into consciousness this morning to a brisk sunshine filled morning. I anticipated the smell of my dried oatmeal as I added the hot and fresh milk in the kitchen.
As I went walking to the car I was thankful as I inserted the key into the ignition while watching the neighborhood kids waiting for the school bus that somewhere far from here it could be a jungle. This is enough for now as I have another day to wake tooooooo.

I thought I would be KIND and offer my services as a hair cutter. Just email me or call. I think you will find yourself not WAITING around so much.

today I had a horrendous day.......but I knew I wanted to blog about something specific so I took your challenge one step further and used many of your words in my blog.......

Thanks for the reminder of good words.........I needed some spice.

I am so excited! You totally have my word of the month on here! I say it overwhelmingly, and people are starting to find it a bit RIDICULOUS! But what can you do? If it's in your head, it's in your head!

One day at RECESS an EARTHQUAKE hit and started an AVALANCE destroying the school; however it was only a WHIMISCAL wish of mine and I still had to go back to class.

My daughter Haze and I are dying for Spring! Enough of this blustery stuff!

I stood PARALYSED in the AUTUMN FOREST as a BUTTERFLY CRISS CROSSED my path. His WILD SHIMMERING wings and WILLOWY smile were nothing compared to the BREATHTAKING DANCE he performed in the air before me. A MUSICAL rustling of leaves overhead played in accompanyment, and my eyes SHINING BRIGHTLY drank in his ASTONISHING beauty BELOW AND BENEATH the SHADOWY evening sky. I gazed for what seemed ages until a puff of wind sent him drifting off INTO THE DARKNESS onto paths unknown. The song grew MUFFLED in my ears, leaving me in VAST silence, WONDERING if I would ever find such MAGIC again.

I feel like I have to WRESTLE with the CHAOS that life has thrown me recently. I need to start blogging again and use my words to help sort it all out.

The OVERCAST skies brought the promise of a BRILLIANT, WINTRY day.

I dressed HASTILY, anticipating the experiences which today held in store. As I stepped outside I breathed in the ICY COLDNESS of the air and felt invigorated.

I wandered about, taking in the MAGNIFICENT beauty of the SPARKLING, SNOWY world, when I suddenly noticed an ENVELOPE nestled between the branches of an ENORMOUS tree. I tore it open with WILD DISARRAY.

On a CRUMPLED note I read these words:
"Each day is meant to be CELEBRATED. Always make time to DANCE, never cease LEARNING, and enjoy the SUNSETs with a FRIEND."

I stood, CHOKEd up with emotion. I decided then that these FANTASTIC words of wisdom would serve as my life's INSTRUCTions. All day I sat, ALONE, considering what I had read.

As evening approached I noticed a friend on a STROLL and knew what to do. I shared the note I had found as we watched the sun slowly PLUNGE behind the distant mountains.

And then we danced.

Wait... did you want a comment or a story? I guess you'll get both.

I am embarrassed that I used two words in my story which Shawna had already taken: WILD and DANCE. What a DREADFUL mistake. I'm PATHETIC.

I have undertaken my first official diet. I SUDDENLY NOTICED that parts of me had become SQUISHY, SQUASHY and FLESHY. Though I have no illusion of reclaiming a WILLOWY figure, I would like to look WELL-BALANCED, and rather GROOVY. I wouldn't mind if my husband were to find me BREATHTAKING as well.

The HANDFUL of words TUMBLE around in my brain, heedless of any TURMOIL caused by their chattering PANDEMONIUM. Each DASHES out into the IMMENSITY of meaning, searching for its AVENUE to astounding clarity .... then STAGGERS back,
GLOOMY and WRETCHED, COLLAPSING at my fingers with MURKY notions clutched apologetically in their collective consonants. I examine the offering, my eyes surrendering to the possibility and beauty in its twisted imperfection. Here's to our syllabic friends for braving the MISTS of the mind, and to teachinfourth for the brief PLUMMET into the GRAND and GLORIOUS world of
words:)

Geez Gerb...you just had to do the UNTHINKABLE, didn't you? DON'T you know how HIDEOUS it was of you to use my words?!?!?

Just kidding, but the way I see it, if you get 2 posts, then I am taking 2 as well!

;D

I am FLABBERGASTED that so many word have already been taken. It would be HIDEOUS of me to take any more and deprive someone else of the opportunity to CREATE more poignant sentences.

Kind of reminds me of Mad Libs. Now that could be fun.

Hum....I wonder what my friends in HURRICANE are up to! :)

I am FLABBERGASTED by the talent of your GUSTY friends. How do they CREATE such amazing comments as to LANDSLIDE any efforts of mine?

It's UNTHINKABLE that I could compete upon this PLAYGROUND of words. I mean, I could handle a HURRICANE, a TORNADO, even a SAUNTER upon a HORSE while holding an ALUMINIUM SALAMANDER and battling an ALLIGATOR, but this?! A GLOOMY CLOUD has enveloped my brain. The HAZE has left my thoughts in a FOG. Maybe if I were IN ANOTHER PLACE: UPTOWN, DOWNTOWN, maybe in SANDY I could think of something, but sadly, I'm at a loss. It's HIDEOUS to admit that I could be beaten by a MUDSLIDE of letters from perfect commentators so GROTESQUEly ambitious.

Plus, I'm too busy for this! I have to SCAMPER and SCURRY about with a CHEERY disposition, or my house will become FILTHY. I just don't have time for such an EXPEDITION of grand proportion.

I know I've let my FAMILY down. I've let the whole KINGDOM down. But it's just too hard. I DON'T think I'm up to it.

annette said...

Drats! I used a word that, although not crossed out on the post, was already used in a comment.
Sigh. I'm going to get HAZEd about that one!

I SCURRY through the FOG,
like a SALAMANDER slipping through
a CLOUD, trying to make myself
that same shade of gray.
