I went out last night to help my old roommate with something, and since his house was so close I decided to run. The weather was perfect…not too hot and not too cold. It filled me with such a sense of invigoration. I felt that I could run forever.
I didn’t though.
Today as I left my job, I went outside. It was like being given a breath of new life. I had been entering grades and writing standard tests for quite some time, and I finally decided that I had been inside for far too long and it was time to get out, to experience life.
As I walked out the door I felt the rays of sun on my face and breathed in a newness; a smile came to my face and I walked to my car with a spring in my step and I was tempted to run… I felt that I could run forever.
Inside my car I turned on some music, as I drove with the moon roof open and the wind blowing in my face, I couldn’t help but laugh. But after all, just who is there who can’t smile with a little Queen blaring in the open air?

but then you thought about your secret stash of mountain dew.....
and if you want a lot of smiles-- i happen to have a couple of little (think they are) Queens that blare both in the open air and enclosed spaces quite frequently and fairly loudly. i could let you.. lets say.. borrow it/them for a more permanent smiling experience. just let me know on that...
I wish I could run. (sigh)
But I do agree, the weather is getting better everyday!
I totally know what you mean about running forever. Each day I ask myself do I run or do I bike today? It is always so hard for me to decide. I love them both. Yesterday, I decide to bike because I had eaten like an hour before. (I have to wait at least 2 hours before I run) I felt like I could ride forever. But time is always against me. I love the spring time! That equals training time. I love it!!!
I love to run! I also love spring and summer. I can't wait for it to warm up a bit more. Too bad running in the halls aren't allowed at school...I don't mind fast walking!
A couple of Fridays ago, my class earned all their class points, and that afternoon they decided that we should play on the "big kids" playground. It was so nice that I wanted to stay out forever, and also had that sense of invigoration that you speak of. Sadly we had to go back inside...
Jacs,
Who doesn't love Queen?
Gerb,
I'll run for the both of us.
Shay-Shay,
The wind blowing into your face and the asphalt flying beneath your tires...there's nothing like it!
KJ,
I have run, biked, and even roller bladed in the halls before...of course, that was a LONG time ago.
Jewels,
I have that feeling when I walk around the building after lunch. But, like you, feel that "blah" feeling when it's time to go back in too...
I love that feeling of fresh air and sunshine, and freedom! Like riding the shopping cart down the Wal-Mart hill to my car or (I betcha haven't done this one) riding a cart down the school halls :) -Yes, as fast as I could (w/o crashing) too!
